Rumania1869-72 Prince Carol Issues The continuation of the previous collection, mounted on 20 exhibition pages, with extensive research in an extraordinary array of mint and used items including part sheets, multiples, spectacular marginal examples, rare retouchs throughout the whole assembly, plate varieties and mixed types arrangements in plates illustrated with explanatory diagrams. The most significant items, among others, are the following: 1869 10b. in lower-right corner block of ten with two blank spaces and mixed types arrangement (illustrated in the second volume of the handbook dedicated to Rumania by Heimbüchler), 10b. double impression in two used examples (true gems with only five recorded), 50b. in used block of four, 50b. folded transfer including used single, pair and the only cover recorded bearing this variety (ex Cristea, illustrated in Heimbüchler's handbook), etc.; 1871 5b. with the rare amendment of one "C" in "Cinci" and rare marginal multiples, 10b. yellow block of four with mixed types, 10b. ultramarine in mint block of 19 from the lower right corner of the sheet featuring mixed types and one blank space; 1872 50b. in very rare used strip of three. An exceptional assembly, gathered after many years of search and research, which would grace any highly important collection dedicated to classic Rumania. Photo
