Rumania1858, 5 parale on thin, white, slightly greyish paper, frame line unbroken beneath the letter "A" of "5 IIAP", a fresh example with outstandingly good and strong impression, ample margins all around, lightly cancelled in blue at Jassy "7/11" (?). Negligible creases which are to be expected and are usual for this thin paper (with no faults mentioned in the Italian certificates), being only visible through the light; this example is preserved in fine state for this stamp, with most of the few examples known being plagued by faults. Only 6,400 stamps of this denomination were printed. A renowned rarity of European philately, with only 32 used examples so far recorded. As a matter of fact, Dr. Heimbüchler states in his certificate, this stamp, together with the 81pa. of the first issue, to be two of the rarest stamps of European philately, being undervalued in catalogues.
