1875 ca., Aug. 10. Envelope from Yokohama to Milan (Italy), bearing 1874 10s. green, syllabic 2, "Bird" (wagtail) 15c. violet, syllabic 1, both showing a remarkable freshness, tied by cork cancels , with the 10s. being additionally tied in transit at New York, with "Yokohama/Paid All" and San Francisco c.d.s.'s, as well as "10/Cents" due marking alongside, backstamped on arrival. A highly desirable cover exhibiting one of the "Bird" values, this being a very rare issue on cover, brought out to meet the foreign mail postal rates. JSCA V33, V37.
