Ferrovie elettrica Bellinzona-Mesocco SA. 5% Obbligazione Fr. 500, Mesocco, 7. September 1907. Unissued. After the opening of the Gotthard railway in 1882, there was demand for a railway link to the communities of the Val Mesolcina to Bellinzona. In 1907, the 31 kilometre-long electrified Bellinzona–Mesocco railway line opened. The plan was to extend the line over the San Bernardino Pass to Thusis and to provide a rail connection to the Rhaetian Railway (RhB). This line was, however, never constructed. In 1942, ownership of line was taken over by the RhB, but it was never connected to the railway's main network. In 1972, the line between Bellinzona and Castione-Arbedo closed. In 1978, the upper section of the line was damaged by a storm, never to be repaired. The remnants of the line between Castione-Arbedo and Cama continued carrying freight traffic until 2003. Today the Società Esercizio Ferroviario Turistico SEFT uses the tracks. EF.
