Ferrovia Elettrica Lugano-Cadro-Dino (Sonvico). Certificato 2 Azioni, Fr. 250, Lugano, 1 Luglio 1910. #194 (0387-0388). Founders Share. The Ferrovia Lugano–Cadro–Dino was established in 1908. The line opened in 1911. It started at the terminus in Piazza Manzoni on the Lake Lugano waterfront. The first two kilometres of the railway followed the road and then it had its own track to Dino. In total, it had 16 stops. With increasing road traffic, the coexistence of cars and train started to become problematic. In the year 1970, the Lugano-Cadro-Dino was merged with the bus service of the "Società per la Ferrovia Elettrica Lugano-Tesserete" and renamed "Autolinee Regionali Luganesi". The railway ceased its activity and was replaced by a bus service. EF.
