Société Cail & Cie / Établissemens Derosne et Cail. Action F 500, Paris, 13 Juillet 1870, #8926. The company was founded by Charles Derosne in 1812. First it produced machines for sugar works. Jean-Francois Cail joined the company in 1822 and soon took over the company, changing the name to Maison Cail in 1844. It concentrated on the railway equipment and produced the first steam engines used in France and soon became on of the big construction houses for machinery and appliances. In 1870, one year before Cail died, the company was changed into Cail & Cie with a capital of F 7 Mio. Since 1973, it is a part of Fives-Cail-Babcock. Beautiful and rare piece with many images of activities and products of the company. Founders share. (Not to be confound with the well-known and not rare 1890 issue!) Some small holes. EF.
