1859-1862, Thin & Thick Figures Issues. An outstanding assembly containing more than 450 stamps used and unused, all values of these issues being included, with duplication also for the scarcer single stamps, also including multiples with thick figures 80c. & 100c. unused blocks of four (each with cert. Hernández Rocha), 100c. in two strips of three (one with cert. Hernández Rocha), thin figures 180c. in more frequent and numerous unused multiples, rare usages in red, green and blue, interesting and scarce subtypes, a wide range of shades, etc. Part of the items are hinged on framed paper which was used in the famous Hoffmann collections; others have characteristically penciled the name "Castillo" on back as a proof of its origin from the collection formed by this famous collector of Uruguay. An outstandingly large holding of these issues, which are of great fascination in classic philately, being very difficult to find on the market as such a large quantity. In predominantly fine to very fine condition throughout. Viewing highly recommended.
