1858-64. ''Sun'' Issues of Uruguay. A specialized collection carefully mounted, abounding in philatelic research which was patiently developed in the plating studies, each issue including a wide range of shades and different types, with "Montevideo'' Block Type Issue comprising 54 stamps with  180 c. (36) including a very rare transfer block reconstruction of 30 types which represents a daunting task, 240 c. (18) mostly including rare subtypes, one example used (very rare) and two copies in the very unusual brownish red shade; the ''Thin'' & ''Thick'' Figures Issues are represented by hundreds of stamps including all values in used and unused condition with significant duplication, some rare cancellations and unusual shades, multiples with ''Thin'' Figures 100 c. block of four and 180 c. block of 18, ''Thick'' figures 80 c. in two blocks of four, etc. The postal history section comprises about 70 covers and cover fronts with copies featuring subtypes, an interesting range of shades, cancellations, including ''Thin'' 180 c. single franking (cert. Holcombe), ''Thick'' 60 c.+80 c. on cover tied by very rare ''San Carlos'' in blue (unique, with cert. Holcombe and BPA), a stunning ''Thin'' 240 c. single franking on cover to France! (very few covers are addressed to a transatlantic destination in the ''Suns'', cert. Díaz Paulos, ex Díaz/Mercedes collection), ''Thick'' 120 c. in mixed franking with ''Escuditos'' 6 c. & 12 c. (cert. Díaz Paulos). A significant quantity of items originate from renowned collections such as Lee and Hoffmann. A magnificent assembly for further advanced development of each issue, constituting an excellent basis of a very significant collection. Detailed viewing is highly recommended.
