1843 (2 Dec.) entire letter to "Capt. Graves Am ship 'Thomas Perkins' Care of Mess Peele Hubbard & Co Manila" "pr Rob Roy"; sent from Capt. Bryant of the barque 'Cynthia' "off Kedgeree Den", and bears a fair to good strike of the Hong Kong Coat of Arms postmark in red, the reverse with manuscript "Care of Mess A. Heard & Co, Canton" and a light strike of the boxed Kedgeree despatch postmark. The 'Rob Roy' sailed on 6th December and arrived in Hong Kong on 30th January 1844. The cover without any rate markings. Thought to be the earliest recorded mail to the Philippines through the Hong Kong Post Office and the only use of the Hong Kong Coat of Arms postmark on mail to the Philippines. Photo
