Gold Coast Cape Coast Castle 1884 (13 Mar.) unfranked front, used during a stamp shortage period (March/April) to London, "9" (for 1 1/2oz. cover) and "3" (3d. accountancy to be retained by the colony) marks in red crayon and showing superb "paid-at-cape-coast-castle" double-ring d.s. (Type F) in red, Paid Liverpool Br. Packet c.d.s. (12.4) and arrival c.d.s. (12.4), all on face; a little light foxing in places though scarce. Photo Estimate £ 120-150 Note: At this time there was a wastage due to stamps having become stuck together in the store, which resulted in shortages
