Bechuanaland 1892 (18 Mar.) envelope from East London to Lance Corporal Atkinson of G Troop, Bechuanaland Border Police at Macloutsie, bearing Cape 1d. red (2) cancelled with hooded d.s. and showing, on reverse, Macloutsie, Vryburg (20.3) and Mafeking (22.3) c.d.s. Estimate £ 100-120 Note: This Imperial unit was formed at Barkly West in August 1885 under Col. Carrington as successors of Warren´´s force. Besides carrying out police duties and assisting with postal services they also saw action in the 1893 Matabeleland War as part of the Shangani Patrol.
