R. Highrs.), very fine or better, with Great War Bronze Memorial Plaque, ´James Robertson´, this worn and pierced at 12 o´clock Estimate £ 200-240 1338 Private James Robertson, born Glasgow; served during the Great War with the 2nd Battalion Royal Highlanders on the Western Front from 12.10.1914; he was killed in action 13.5.1915; on the 9th May the battalion, as part of the Bareilly Brigade, went into action at Aubers Ridge, suffering 8 officers and 266 other ranks killed; by the 13th they were back in action this time suffering 22 men killed; Robertson is commemorated on Le Touret Memorial, Pas de Calais, France.
