H.L.I.), good very fine or better, with Great War Bronze Memorial Plaque, ´Thomas Anderson´, this with enclosure slip and in card box of issue Estimate £ 240-280 330257 Private Thomas Anderson (formerly no. 1807), born Glasgow, Scotland, 1895; served during the Great War with 1st/9th (Glasgow Highlanders) Battalion Highland Light Infantry on the Western Front from 5.11.1914; he was killed in action on the Western Front, 5.11.1918; in early November 1918 the battalion was engaged in one of the last major advances of the War through the Forest of Mormal, four years earlier the British Expeditionary Force had passed through the forest during the retreat from Mons; Anderson is buried in Cross Roads Cemetery Nord, France.
