(Corpl. Wm. Rofe, 2nd. Foot.), with original claw and later ring suspension; 2nd Foot Meritorious Service Cross for 10 Years´ Service, X incised on obverse, reverse engraved ´Queen´s Royal For Ten Years´ Meritorious Service to William Rofe´, good very fine (3) Estimate £ 800-900 358 Corporal William Rofe, born Hampshire, 1807; enlisted in the 2nd Foot, July 1824; promoted Corporal, November 1838; discharged October 1847, after 22 years and 83 days with the colours, of which 17 years and eleven months were spent in India.
