1867 5c Olive green, original plate, second state, position 11, a very rare single franking in the equally rare olive green shade, tied to clean and attractive 1867 entire folded letter to Padilla by ornate ""Franca/Sucre"" oval type fancy handstamp, the stamp is in a distinctive deep olive green shade with large margins, the letter is datelined July 17, 1867, a very early and extremely fine cover; the stamps of the second state of the plate are where the very scarce yellow green shades are found, but the early printings of that state were also in shades of olive, as were the shades of the first state of the plate, since no postally used examples are known from the first state we have attributed this to the second state, but this is an extremely rare early cover, not just because of the rare shade, but because of the single franking paying the 5c rate within the same department which are rarely encounte Estimate US$ 3,000-3,500
