1867 5c-100c Condor comprehensive and highly specialized collection, a beautifully written up collection on exhibition pages documenting the mint issues in singles, blocks and other multiples, postally used examples where the value was so used and fiscal usages, plus reprints, forgeries and bogus cancels and covers, all carefully described and identified with the several hundred original stamps and numerous reprints all plated by position number, housed in three deluxe custom albums, the first page is a mint set of all the different stamps including the ten major stages of the printing plate which is complete except for the earliest impression of the original plate which is pen cancelled, the first volume is dedicated to the 5c Green in its numerous states of the plate and shades with a nice range of the scarce yellow green shades, including a double impression, there are singles and multiples with various cancels including a fiscally used block of 24 from the second state of the plate of 60, positions 4-9/40-45, numerous multiples of the later states of the plates are present up to a block of 42 of the fifth state of the original plate, includes a nice selection of the different postal cancels that are found on the 5c up to blocks of six as well as blocks with some attractive fiscal handstamp cancels, each value, including the 5c Greens has a selection of forgeries that range from crude to dangerous, the 10c Brown is represented by numerous unused and used examples of this scarce stamp, plus reprints in blocks, the used include two small pieces with a bisect tied along with a single by a proper postal cancel, there are also two signed combination die proofs of the two positions that Sperati forged, plus a combination proof and seven of his forgeries including six in three pairs, the 50c orange shows the numerous colors of the originals and has a specialized study comparing the originals to the Eberhardt forgeries for all 30 positions, in addition to some nice genuine fiscal cancelled copies there are a number with bogus postal type cancels including three bogus covers, the 5c Violet section is especially nice with a number of mint or unused multiples in various colors including four mint blocks of four, plus a wonderful range of postally used up to strips of three and fiscally used up to a block of twelve, the other 50c and 100c values are also well represented including five different shades of the rare unused 50c Blue, condition overall is attractive and well above the average that one would expect for this classic imperforate issue with the vast majority being fine-very fine or better for these; our description has only touched on the highlights of this most important collection of the Bolivian Condors which we have left largely intact; this represents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to acquire such a comprehensive collection as it is doubtful that there has been another to equal it; accompanied by ten certificates of authenticity.
