1867 5c Dark yellow green, original plate, second state, unused reconstructed irregular block of twelve consisting of a block of eight, positions 2-5/14-17, and a block of four, positions 27-28/39-40, the cut and the paper structure establish that these blocks came from the same sheet, strong bright color on fresh paper, detailed impression being slightly under inked at the bottom of the two bottom stamps, large to extra-large margins on both blocks, very fine and exceedingly choice; unused examples of the early impressions seldom come with original gum and are extremely rare, especially in a desirable multiple such as this.
