Crime and Punishment Punishment Transportation 1838 letter written by the widow of a missionary, her husband having recently died from disease, on ´Navigators Island, Satupatia´ - fascinating content which details the extraordinary situation on the island: ´We have lived among the heathen for nearly 8 years…. Plots have been laid by ignorant heathen to take my Husband´s life, and wicked Englishmen that are here have vowed vengeance against him…´ - the Englishmen were runaway convicts who had mutinied on their transport ship, murdered the captain, crew and sank the ship before landing on island to hide out; some strengthened splits. A wonderful and unique record Estimate £ 200-250
