Crime and Punishment Prisons London Various: 798-1960 (c.), the selection of entire letters/envelopes (15), a front, printed documents (2), a good range of topics/places, some with postal markings directly related to specific prisons: Belvedere Place, White Cross Street, Kew, etc., 1842 front to Liverpool, apparently addressed in the hand of Elizabeth Fry, the noted Prison Reformer, also picture postcards (11) with views of Newgate Gaol, one showing Dr. Crippen and Miss Le Neve after their arrest, another amusingly entitled "Porridge´ which shows a warder doling out a ladle of ´something´ into a prisoner´s bowl!, etc.; a mostly fine and attractive assembly Estimate £ 500-600
