Crime and Punishment Prisons London King´s Bench: 1696 (20 Nov.) printed document, with relevant details completed in manuscript, being a summons from a Justice of the Peace to a creditor (Thomas Lewis) which required him to attend court to show cause why his imprisoned debtor (Richard Poole) should not be discharged and released; 1720 (24 July) entire letter addressed to a debtor prisoner (William Bagley), showing Bishop Mark and ink rate ´7´, accompanied by photocopy of relevant part of prison record book page, also 1807 (12 Dec.) entire letter from a debtor held at Fleet Prison seeking financial help from a friend, showing light strike of the double-framed ´ludgate hill´ Receiver´s h.s.; some faults though still an attractive group Estimate £ 200-250
