Crime and Punishment Prisons London Fleet: 1738 printed ten-page ´Act of Parliament´, entitled ´An Act for vesting the Real and Personal Estate of Hugh Naish Esquire, who was late a Prisoner in His Majesty´s Prison of the Fleet, and escaped out of the same, in Trustees, for the Benefit of his Creditors.´ – the wording of the proposed law indicates that it was not specifically aimed at one particular man (Hugh Naish) but to set a legal precedent for other debtor prisoners who absconded from gaol; fine and very fresh. Also two engravings and a series of newspaper cuttings with views and historical details of Fleet Prison. A most appealing group Estimate £ 180-220
