ST. VINCENT Early Letters and Handstamps 1796 (12 May) soldier's entire letter from Sergeant Smith in the 60th Regiment at Walliaboo Falls, addressed to Scotland, rated "Pd 1d" and showing light "paid" double-ring d.s. in red, the reverse endorsed "A Soldier's Letter" by a Captain in the regiment. A very rare letter written during the War with France and believed to be the earliest concessionary rate letter from any of the British West Indies. Photo Estimate £ 4,000-5,000
