Mementoes of an Indian Army VC Winner A drab serge puttee; a rank-star in worsted embroidery; and a button of the Indian Medical Service; together with a letter from a relative of the original owner to the current vendor, stating that these items belonged to Brigadier John Alexander Sinton VC (4) Estimate £ 40-60 Note: On 21st January 1916, at Orah Ruins, Mesopotamia, Captain Sinton of the Indian Medical Service attended to wounded under intense fire, and continued to do so throughout the day, despite being shot through both arms and the side.
