1924 Collier Trophy Award. Letter from Secretary of War John W. Weeks to B. Russell Shaw, Collier Committee, NAA. One-page typed on War Dept. letterhead, Feb. 9, 1925. Weeks thanks Shaw for the award of the trophy to the Army Air Service for the first aerial flight around the world. He also notes his approval that the Mackay Army Trophy will be awarded at the same time (for the same accomplishment). He signs below in black ink. Ink File stamp below, ledge punches at top; also five-page, typed copy of industrialist and aviation supporter Godfrey L. Cabot's presentation speech for the 1924 Collier and Mackay Trophies.
