The cover with Buckinghamshire Railway imprint bottom left (and red wax seal on verso), red cancel: "PAID / FE / 13AP13 / 1850"; blue cancel: "Euston Sq / 1D - PAID", Oxford April 14, 1850 on verso. The letter on company stationary, Office, Euston Station concerns the granting of land required by the railway and a meeting on that subject. Very scarce railway items and cancellations; Oxford, Worcester and Wolverhampton Railway. Ca. 1850's Announcement of "A New Direct and Continuous Railway From Oxford to London From a Station near Blenheim Palace and North Parade, St. Giles Field, Oxford, and ending at Waterloo Bridge, London".
