[English and Scottish Politicians]. A trio. Edward George Stanley, 15th Earl Derby (1826-1893). British statesman, Colonial Secretary (1858; 1882-1885), Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs (1866-1868; 1874-1875). ALS "Derby". 2 pages, 4 1/3 x 7" personal stationary with embossed Eagle and Child crest of the Stanleys, St. James Square, May 7, 1863. Stanley writes in regard to the rebuilding of the parish church of Headington; Thomas Galbraith, 1st Baron Strathclyde (1891-1985). Scottish Unionist Party politician, Minister of State for Scotland (1951-April 5, 1951; April 7, 1951-1958), Chairman North of Scotland Hydroelectric Board. ALS "Strathclyde" as Minister of State for Scotland. One page on Scottish Office Sec. of State letterhead, London April 15, 1958. Strathclyde thanks a Mr. Genewell and hopes "the society will continue to prosper". With cover envelope; and Thomas Cochrane, 1st Baron Cochrane of Cults (1857-1951). Framed 7 x 9" B&W photo of a bewhiskered Cochrane with cut autograph "affectionately yours Hon. T. Cochran". Scuffs to frame. Fine. [4]
