[British Politicians]: John Spencer-Churchill, 7th Duke of Marlborough (1822-1883). British Conservative cabinet minister, peer and nobleman, paternal grandfather of Winston Churchill. Pair of , "Marlborough". 4 ½ x 7". March, 23rd, 1859, and August 23rd (on "Blenheim" embossed stationary). In the first, 1 ¾ pages, written to a Mr. Langston, Marlborough remarks that "the matter of the proposed -- sufficiently cognate with the concerns of the office"; in the latter, 1 page, responds to a letter regarding an order for the Radcliffe.
