John Ruskin (English Art Critic) (1819-1900) autograph note signed, on embossed "Denmark Hill, S" notepaper (the home to which Ruskin moved in 1842), approx. 4.5"x4.25", declining a social engagement the following day for fear of his guest catching a cold, signed "J.R.", a fine example from one of Victorian England's leading men of letters.
