John Ross (c. 1835) – printed form requesting biographical information, completed in manuscript by Ross and signed by him at top, verso blank, faults, with loss at right side and lower left. Ross (1877-1856) was a British Royal Navy officer who led several expeditions to the Arctic, and later to Antarctica, undertaking his final expedition in 1850, at the age of 72, to search for the expedition of Sir John Franklin. A scarce document despite its faults.
