                        Wright, Orville.  (August 19, 1871 - January 30, 1948). National Aeronautic Association of U. S. A., Inc. Aviator's Certificate dated. July 26, 1930. 6pp. 3" x 4 4 1/4." The Aviator's Certificate is issued to Wayne J. Sheldon, test pilot for (Sealed Power) Piston Ring Co. of Muskegon, Michigan. The Aviator's Certificate, separated into three parts, has a green cover with gold lettering. The inside front cover states that Wayne J. Shelton " …having fulfilled all the conditions required by the Federation Aeronautique Internationale for an Aviator Pilot is brevetted as such." Orville Wright signs his full name, in brown ink, near the bottom of the inside front cover. The second panel includes a photograph of Wane J. Sheldon, his signature, and an embossed seal of the Association. The following panel, and the inside front cover bear the words "The Civil, Naval and Military Authorities, including the Police, are respectfully requested to aid and assist the holder of the Certificate. " This message is repeated in five other languages. Also included is an exclusive admission card to the 1930 National Air Races. After selling his company in 1915, Orville Wright spent the last thirty years of his life serving on boards and committees related to aeronautics, including the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics, predecessor to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
