Russia. Badge of the Brotherly Cross of the Russian Orthodox Brotherhood of Kamchatka once belonging to Archbishop Nestor (Anisimov), 1885-1962. 61 x 94 mm. Gilt Silver and enamels. By Nicholai Linden, St. Petersburg. Cf. P/B 15.11. Multipiece construction. Central gold rayed medallion with facing head of Christ on white enamel within gold wreath on raised cross framed in red and blue enamel; Cyrillic legend around in gold letters Persuade them to enter so the house may be filled. All set on rayed cross with gold ciphers of Nicholas II, Maria Feodorovna, Alexandra Feodorovna and Tsarevich Alexei on small turquoise enamel medallions. Maker's mark (crowned and draped Imperial eagle) ,,HИKOЛAЙ ЛИHДEHЪ`` CΠ. БУPΓЪ. on back with kokoshnik "(head)84", "(head)" and "A.Б." This badge differs from the First Class type illustrated in the work by Patrikeev/Boynovich as this example's lower arm is elongated and is made with a hook for a ribbon. In original, fitted case. Top of enamel on Alexandra's cipher chipped, otherwise Extremely Fine and quite Rare.
