Civil War. Pre-Hostilities. Trio of newspapers: "The Daily True Delta," New Orleans, Feb. 16, March 9 and March 17, 1861. All 8 page, folio. The first with a cover reprint of Lincoln's address at Indianapolis on his way to the inauguration, a listing of committees formed by the Confederate Congress, also the "The Latest from Fort Sumter", where Major Anderson "is fully prepared for any emergencies" and "expects to be attacked immediately after Col. Hayne's return"; the second features a list of U.S. Army officers who have resigned since the Ordinance of Secession was passed in South Carolina on the front page along with a list of the men making up the Senate of the 37th Congress empowered with Lincoln March 4 - the word VACANCY is filled in for seceded states; the last offers a biographical sketch of each member of Lincoln's cabinet on page two. Each with clipping square cut out (first two lower right front page; the latter incomplete on page 3), the last with pages separated from spine. Light foxing. About Very Good to About Fine. [3]
