1893 Capitol Cornerstone Laying Centennial Silver Medal. XF. B-654. 50.5mm/55.59gms. Obv: three-quarters left facing bust of Washington in oval above scene of the cornerstone laying. Rev: View of capitol. Darkly toned on both sides with light hairlining in the fields and small marks that are the result of non-numismatic distribution. Evidence of one-time suspension is seen at 12 o´clock where indentions can be seen. Rare in this metal format and apparently given to the very limited number of ceremony officials.
