R.A.F.); 1939-45 Star; Air Crew Europe Star, with France and Germany bar; Defence and War Medals, extremely fine, the last four in box of issue addressed to A.C. Seaman, Stowemarket, Suffolk, together with six photographs, a some original documents (5)

D.F.M. London Gazette 17.10.1944. 1330247 Sergeant Alfred Cecil Seaman No. 166 Squadron, Royal Air Force.
The Recommendation states, 'This N.C.O. has completed 27 and two thirds sorties over enemy territory including most of the heavily defended targets in Germany. During these sorties, he has set an example of cheerful courage and unselfishness. He has maintained with his fellow gunner a standard of co-operation and fearlessness in the face of the enemy. During many long flights, he has kept a vigilant watch and by his patience and endeavour has enabled his crew to press on to the target, secure in the knowledge that they could devote their full attention to the attack. For his coolness in the face of danger, his skill and courage, he is recommended for the award of Distinguished Flying Medal.'
