D.F.M. London Gazette 21.9.1918. No. 208711 1st A./M. 'Has always displayed gallantry and devotion to duty. Has flown for more than 300 hours in seaplanes, and has been in action with hostile aircraft on numerous occasions.'
Air Mechanic Alexander Robertson Moyes, born Mid Calder, Midlothian, 6.10.1897; joined the Royal Naval Air Service 7.10.1915; promoted to A.M. 1 and to Felixtowe 1.4.1918, where he took part in 'spiders-web' operations; transferred to the R.A.F Reserve 18.4.1919; served a Sergeant Fitter, R.A.F.V.R. 1939-45.
