Manuscript Ephemera: Espionage! 1761-88 Eon de Beaumont (1728-1810) known as Chevalier d´Eon, sent as secret agent to Russia by Louis XV in 1755, where he adopted woman´s dress; to receive his pension from France he was forced by Louis XVI´s decree to wear woman´s dress for life! Some 30 documents made out to him, 1761-88, very good. Also, a contemporary copy of a letter involving the French spy du Vernay in the late 17th Century, including translations and the letter of a London antiquarian bookseller. Interesting and certainly unusual. Estimate US$ 100-150
