1855-1865 The naval appointments and service record of Commander George T.S. Winthrop, with six appointment certificates signed by naval officials to the ships Waterloo, Melampus, Arrogant, Dauntless (2), Hope; certificates from the Captains of these ships testifying to his service and conduct (7) and a Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty appointment to the ship Irresistable (1864). A printed information sheet (May 1859) gives "A List of the Documents which each Officer or his Agent is required to obtain and deliver into the Office of the Accountant General of the Navy ... to pass his accounts or to receive the residue of his pay".
