1318 Vellum document in Latin dated 14 April 1318 as given, as well as the regnant year given, with three seal tags, the fragment of only one seal remaining.
Stephen son of John of Neweby, having stated that three persons (Robert of Neweby, Richard son of Ranulph, and William Blaunkfrount) have bound themselves to him in 100 shillings in a separate deed, grants that this bond is null if he, Stephen, enjoys a messuage, 2.5 acres of arable and half acre of meadow in "Dalton iuxta Toppeclif", (Dalton in Topcliffe, south of Thirsk, Yorkshire), which he has by feoffment of Robert Somer and his wife Setherith, without trouble from Robert Setherith or their heirs. If they cause trouble (suit in the King's Court being specifically mentioned) the bond remains in force.(22.5x10cm)
