1721 Manuscript declaration signed by Baron Hans von Bothmer (1656-1732), a Hanoverian diplomat and courtier, saying that the names of Counts Reuss and De Hoyne "for one thousand pounds" and that of "Edmund Bentley for five hundred pounds" are "fictitious names and only made use of by me to procure the said subscriptions". He indemnifies the South Sea Company "from any incumbrance" as a result.
