Printed Receipts
C. 1700 A group of 7 printed receipts from the exchequer, with the details added by hand.
This group includes; a receipt from 1693 confirming that Ralph, Earl of Montagu received £30 interest, a receipt from 1695 confiming that Richard, Earl of Ranelagh received £11.5s interest, a pair of receipts from 1700 confirming that Samuel Monck received £6 interest on each loan, a receipt from 1707 confirming that Viscount Townsend received £15 interest from a loan, which was collected by Charles, Earl of Orrery, who also signed this at the bottom, a tax receipt from 1709 for the payment of 11 shillings tax from the Carver of Queen Anne's court, John Gilborough, and a receipt from 1715 for the payment of interest on a £500 loan given by Edward Gibbon, grandfather of the historian, which is signed by Gibbon, as well as Lord Halifax and Sir Paul Methuen.
