Payment to Governors of Bermuda and Barbados (Walpole Signature)
A pair of documents outlining the payment to the ex-Governor of Barbados (1758) and to the Governor of Bermuda (1725).

The ex-Governor of Barbados, Sir Thomas Robinson, is paid his allowance of £200 per quarter from the Civil List, and a bonus of £300 for services rendered as governor.

The Governor of Bermuda, John Hope, is paid £510 “for his better support and maintenance in the said employment.” This document is signed by Robert Walpole, just four years before becoming the first Prime Minister.

Both excellent condition. (33 x 23 cm and 37 x 23cm)
