Lord Cottington
1638 A record of the expenses accrued by the Receipt of the Exchequer from 12th February 1637 to 13th June 1638. The document contains the uncommon signature of the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Francis Cottington, 1st Baron Cottington.

Regarded as an incredibly competent financial mind, Cottington became chancellor after first becoming the most eminent figure on Spain within England. He served under Charles I during his period of personal rule, then was forced to flee during the Civil War.
