Undated letter from Ann Bagot in Staffordshire with integral address panel reading To my deare and loving husband Sir Herm Bagott [Sir Hervey Bagot]", letter reads: "Dear Hart I have no newse to send you but that all your frendes in Staffordshere ar well and very glad that you had so fare weather up I pray god bless and direct you in all you affair and send you saufe and sowne home to her that loneeth you most dearely I have sent you a botel of angelico water to deliver to your hosts uppon condicion shee will hassen you to her that wenteth a good head and a mery harte til you com this memed I remayne youre ever loving wife". Signed "Anne Bagot". With postscript reading "I pray you remember my love to all my fendes".

A remarkable and rare letter.

Notes: Sir Hervey Bagot (1591-1660), 1st Baronet High Sheriff of Staffordshire married twice, first to Katherine Aldersley, and second to Ann Fisher, daughter of Sir Clement Fisher. One of twenty commissioners appointed to collect Staffordshire's share of the 1642 subsidy and variously helped the Royalist cause through his life, notably raising troops against Parliament in 1642."
