Three Regicides of King Charles I
1646 (15 September) letter from the Commissioners for Irish Affairs given at Whitehall with integral address panel reading "To our very loving friends Colonell Chudliegh Cooke, Colonell John Moore, and Colonell Roger Fenwick".

Letter is an order providing troops of foot and horse as well as provisions to be sent as well as clothes and armes, noting that they have "written to the Commissioners in Ulster for disposing both of horse and foote into quarter at their arrivall, whither we are also sending some good quantities of wheat and cheese for their subsistment" giving orders that "with all expedition ... imbarque and shipp away for Belfast in Ulster as many of your regiments as you have in readiness, or can at presently possibly get together."

Signed by Robert Wallop, Peter Temple, Gregory Norton (these three either signed the death warrant or sat in judgement [Wallop], Sir Richard Kightly, Thomas Challoner and James Simple.

A postscript reads: "We are informed that many Irish natives, Papists and others ill affected to your persons, doe endeavour by putting themselves into companies to gett their passage into Ireland; wee therefore, being wary for keeping the same, doe advise you to admitt of no such now, to suffer any of them to passe under trouble (?) of your commands into any part of your kingdome".

An important Civil War document of Irish interest. In addition, the signatures of Regicides are scarce, particularly so in combination on a single document.
