King Charles I
1628 (1 May) letter signed at top "Charles R" with remarkable integral address panel to Viscount Falkland, the Lord Deputy of England, appointing Sir Thomas Savile as "Viscount Savile and Barron of Castle Barre", an Irish Baronetcy - this has been portrayed by historians as a consolation prize for the preference shown to Sir Thomas Wentworth who had a famously acrimonious relationship with Savile's father.
