1855-1960s A very large collection of Northern Railway Letter and Parcel Stamps with Railway Letter Garstang & Knott End 1909 deep bluish green sheet of four, selection with controls "43", "49", "67-68" with gum and "502/504", "526/528" in a pale shade and "580", all without gum, 1917 (13 July) Wilson envelope marked "Post on arrival at Knott End" bearing 1909 2d. deep bluish green "247" tied by Garstang dated oval with K.G.V ½d. pair tied by Knott End, Fleetwood c.d.s.; Hull & Barnsley mint group with 2d. horizontally laid paper in single booklet panes (3), other 2d. values (3) and 1922 4d. in a single booklet pane; Liverpool St. Helens & South Lancashire 1899 2d. deep green in a top left corner block of four; Macclesfield Committee 1894 2d. deep green complete sheet of twelve (2), and singles over various printings; Manchester & Milford 1897 2d. dull green in a complete sheet of twelve with full original gum. Also Parcel Stamps Lancashire & Yorkshire collection on leaves with 1855 values to 5d. unused and 6d. used including 4d. unused (2) and used, 1865 with values to 6d. unused and used (2); 1870 values to 4d. unused with a block of four and singles (4), 1880 values to 6d. (2), 1892 Prepaid Single Newspaper including ½d. block of four and Prepaid Newspaper Parcel values to 6d. unused (4) including 2d. on News Parcel envelope (not used). Prepaid Parcel stamps with 1899 set to 9d. unused and used plus 4d. to 9d. in unused blocks of four; 1904 values including ½d. and to 4d. and 6d. with 2d. used on News Correspondence envelope to Bradford. Cartage with Wyre Docks 1d. (13). A collection of later parcel stamps with 1910 values to 2/6d. (4), 1917 values to 5/-, 1919 values to 10/- plus used Traffic Way bills (4); Manchester South Junction & Altringham 1890 1d. handstamped "cancelled" in red, 1d. used control letter "H" and 2d. used with control letter "B" (3) and "D", also (½d.) mint. (7); North Eastern 1875 "At Owners Risk" collection with 48lb. black in a lower left corner block of four, "637911/637917", 1½lb. varieties double control number and incorrect fount "2", 3lb. showing two different types of "3" etc.; North Staffordshire 1890 "At Owner's Risk" duplicated selection; Preston & Wyre mint examples with blocks and 2d. and 3d. complete sheets; East Yorkshire Motor Services 1960s collection with "specimens"; and Ribble 1950s collection with parcel tickets and stamps.
