1855-1940 a collection of Railway Letter and Parcel Stamps with Railway Letter Great Central and Midland 2d. used (6), manuscript "3d" on 2d. unused, "3" in violet in 2d. unused (2), 3d. unused single and pair, manuscript "4" on 3d. in green, blue, black (3) and red, unused; "4" in light blue on 3d. unused (3), 4d. green unused (4) and "4" in purple on 3d. (2) unused; Great Central & North Staffordshire 1922 (c.) 4d. bright green in a complete sheet of twelve (2) one unmounted mint, the other large part original gum; Midland & Great Northern Joint 1894 2d. green, a selection with mint including a pair and block of six, also one fine used with Yarmouth Beach oval; Oldham, Ashton & Guide Bridge 1899 2d. deep green in a complete sheet of twelve (split into block of 6 and two strips of 3), large part original gum. Also a single showing non-constant damaged "G" in "SINGLE", 1940 (14 May) envelope to Petts Wood, Orpington bearing, on the reverse, 1d. "4244" and 2d. "4661" red on white parcel stamps from Ashton, Oldham Road, each cancelled by straight-line station handstamp and datestamp in purple, the address side with K.G.VI 1½d. and Centenary 1d. tied by Oldham machine postmark; Sheffield & Midland 1894 2d. dull dark green in a complete sheet of twelve, with full original gum, the stamps in the right column do not show stop after "committee", and printing 1 strip of three, printing 3 partial reconstruction, printing 4 in issued sheets of six (2) with several used including a block of four and other multiples, printings 5 and 6 with blocks of four; Shropshire and Montgomeryshire group with 1914 2d. vermilion in a sheet of six (2) "7"-"12" and "247"-"252", a single "711", 1927 4d. brown-lake "0035" and 1929 3d. bluish green "0046"; Stratford-Upon-Avon and Midland group with printing 1 unused, printing 2 unused (6) and used, printing 3 unused (2) and used; 3d. unused (2), manuscript "4d" on 3d. "21" used and printed "4d" on 3d. unused (3) and 1913 2d. red on matt yellow surfaced paper in a complete sheet of twelve "7038-7049", large part original gum. Also Parcel Stamps Midland 1855 large design with Prepaid Newspaper Parcel issue which includes unused values to 4d., 5d. (4), 6d. (2), 9d. (3) and 1/- (4); with additional or news letter including unused 3d. (3) and 4d. (3), 1855 Corn Sample 1lb. orange "20078" unused, Local Prepaid Parcel on Corn or Coal Business 2d. green "5882" unused; 1866 Design II, a collection on leaves which includes 1d. unused (5), 1½d. unused (7), 2d. imperforate overprinted "specimen" and unused (7); 1880-90 a collection in blocks of six overprinted "specimen" in red with 1880 ½d. to 1/- (6d. pair only and 9d. from the 1890 issue), prepaid Corn Sample 1lb. green and news correspondence 2d. to 4d. blue. A fantastic lot.
