1842-53 a group of Size B envelopes with 1842 (9 Sept.) from Havant (inverted "7" for "4") to Florence and redirected to Lucca, Italy with a fine array of rate and transit marks; 1845 (4 Aug.) from Cambridge to Quebec rated "2/4" and bearing straight-line "forwarded" in red; 1846 (17 Feb.) from Boulours to London with the despatch c.d.s. at left and London arrival (13.2) on the reverse; 1852 (21 Feb.) from Colchester to Madeira "By first ship" with "1/10" rate mark; and 1853 (10 Nov.) from Bury St. Edmunds to Nova Scotia uprated "11d" and with handstruck "2" in red charged for Canadian delivery. Also 1844 (17 Dec.) size A envelope sent from Honfleur to John Wilson, Writer, Ayr, uncancelled and with the despatch c.d.s. A good group. (6 covers)
