A selection of usages with 1844 Numerals: 1849 (26 Oct.) size B envelope to Westminster cancelled by Bishop's Auckland "80" numeral in blue, 1847 (4 Apr.) size B envelope to Inverness cancelled by a good strike of the Irish Mayo "355" numeral in blue with matching despatch d.s. alongside; 1851 (22 May) size B envelope to Hambleton cancelled by York "930" numeral but somewhat misdirected, first to Thirsk with manuscript "Not Thirsk" in red ink with open top Thirsk c.d.s. (23.5) and "try N.B.", boxed "missent/to/edinburgh" in black and "Selby" added. The reverse with straight-line "micklegate" in blue, York, Thirsk. Edinburgh and Hull (25.5) c.d.s and the final arrival, an undated Hambleton open circle; 1849 (19 Nov.) size F envelope to Penzance cancelled by "544" numeral, marked "Registered" and with large "6" in red ink, 1848 (13 July) 1d. Pink Lettersheet to Bakewell, cancelled by "716" numeral of Sleaford, marked "Registered Letter" with large manuscript "6" in red ink; and Turned Envelopes: 1850 (20 Mar.) size B envelope from Liverpool to Barnsley with appropriate postmarks, turned and sent to Doncaster with 1841 1d. red-brown tied by Barnsley numeral with despatch and arrival c.d.s, and 1846 (Jan.) size b envelope to Southampton, turned and sent to Godstone, Surrey with 1846 (29 Jan.) Southampton despatch c.d.s., handstruck "1" in red with the arrival c.d.s. on the reverse. A scarce and attractive group
