Iron Age Britain, Catuvellauni, Cunobelin (AD 9-40), AV Stater, 'Wild A' Series, Camulodunum (Colchester), corn ear without central stalk, CA to left, MV to right, rev. horse right, ring in front of face, dashes for mane, branch above and CVNO below, 5.447g [84.06grns], 6h (VA 1931 variety; BMC 1787ff.; Mack 211variety; S.285; ABC 2777), with an old, fine surface hairline split, otherwise struck on an elongated flan of paler rose-gold fabric, a bolder fine to very fine
